Robert later enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served during the Vietnam War. Upon entering in September of 1967 he was stationed at Ft. Benning in Georgia and later sent overseas to Vietnam. He served as a member of the 37th Scout Dog Infantry Division attached to the 82nd Airborne Division. During his time of death he had been serving as a battalion clerk. His rank was Specialist Five. Robert was killed in a non-hostile accident in Binh Doung, South Vietnam on March 30 of 1969. This is the only information available regarding Roberts Death. He was only 27 years old. Robert is buried at Saint Lamberts Cemetery in Laconia, New Hampshire.
